Siri gets a new look from Apple

Siri received a makeover at Apple's annual WorldWide Developer Conference (WWDC) in Cupertino, as part of the company's broad generative AI initiative.

Now, Siri is more natural, relevant, and personal, with a new appearance including a revamped icon. The assistant now appears with a glowing light that surrounds the edges of the device's screen.

Siri is now better equipped to handle speech errors and understand context. Users can now also type to Siri, and the assistant can provide guidance on using iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

In the near future, Siri will gain on-screen capabilities, allowing users to interact with it in more ways. For example, users will be able to ask Siri to perform tasks like adding an address to a contact card. Siri will also be able to execute actions across different apps, such as enhancing a photo in one app and then transferring it to another, thanks to the new App Intents API.

Apple demonstrated Siri's deep capabilities by showcasing its ability to find a photo of a license, extract the ID number, and submit it in a web form.

It is not yet known when these new features will be available, but more information is expected to be revealed as WWDC progresses.
